Goldilocks surgery!
I’d had an inguinal hernia for some time, and it was getting bigger and bigger. My GP referred me to our local hospital saying that the wait for surgery would be long.
My kids said go private, but the cost, especially for laparoscopic surgery, was nearly £5,000. Then I discovered the Nord Clinic in Lithuania and Dr Dauksa. Under a little known NHS scheme called S2, providing my local hospital under agreed, the NHS would cover around half the cost of treatment.
So last Friday Dr Dauksa sorted out my problem and within hours of the operation, I was walking, eating and researching my next book. I’ve been amazing by the speed of my recovery.
Today I’ve added up what I spent on flights, parking, hotel, food and treatment and it’s a little under half the cost of having it done in the UK. So the NHS wait is too long, UK private surgery too costly, and the Nord Clinic in Lithuania, like the bear’s porridge, was just right!
