I’ve been to school this week

I've always tried to inspire young people to see the world a little differently, and the other day spent a morning working with two groups of students at Wymondham College. I was introduced as a visiting author, which gave my ego a boost, and the librarian had thoughtfully put together a display of some of my books, and content from my website

The visit was prompted by the imminent publication of my latest book, Where are the Fellows who Cut the Hay, a book I used to explore climate change with the students, from the perspective of how everyday life is evolving. Until 70 years ago, we lived in harmony with the natural world, and now we are slowly retreating from the destructive use of fossil fuels. This means that many old ways are starting to reappear.

It's so important to make time to share our experiences with schools, as this can give context to what they are being taught, and more importantly, can inspire their creativity.
