On my doorstep

Last night we went to Aldeburgh’s cinema to see National Theatre live performance of Good, a thought provoking play in which David Tennant plays a German professor who finds himself drawn deeper and deeper into Nazi ideology. It illustrated how we should all keep a firm grasp on our values, and not lower our standards in an attempt to become popular.

When living in Norfolk, we used to go to National Theatre live events at Cinema City, but now we’re living in Leiston, we’re just three miles from an arthouse cinema. What’s more Aldeburgh has free parking, performances are not oversubscribed and there’s the chance of a walk by the sea before returning home.

Aldeburgh cinema is also a charity, so profits don’t go to distant shareholders, but are retained for the benefit of the audience. This is proving to be an amazing part of world in which to live.
